La canción está inspirada por un pasaje de Casa de Hojas, uno de los libros más increíbles que he leído, en el que un paisano en la oscuridad lee un libro prendiendo fuego cada hoja que lee, arrancada, con la anterior antes de que se extinga.
Me dio muchísima ansiedad y creo que vivimos un poco así, iluminándonos con las llamas de nuestro pasado reciente, en un eterno presente desconectado de una historia de luchas y amores, de triunfos y derrotas que nos han robado para mantenernos en un continuo disgusto en el que no podemos reaccionar.
La última frase de la canción es literal del libro y es exactamente ese sentimiento otra vez.

The song was inspired by a passage in House of Leaves, one of the most incredible books I've ever read, in which a dude in the dark reads a book, setting fire to each page he reads, torn out, with the previous one before it is extinguished.
It gave me a lot of anxiety and I think we live a little like that, lighting ourselves with the flames of our recent past, in an eternal present disconnected from a history of struggles and loves, of triumphs and defeats that have been stolen from us to keep us in a continuous displeasure in which we can't react.
The last sentence of the song is verbatim from the book and it is exactly that feeling again.

The book is about a haunted house, so whatever.
